Privacy Policy

Information we collect

Account details (name, email), usage (sessions, minutes interpreted), and billing records. Payments are handled by Stripe — your card number is never stored by us.

Audio

Audio is relayed in real time to our processors solely to transcribe and translate it. We do not store your audio. Transcript history is kept on your own device, not on our servers.

Why we process it

To provide and bill for the Service, to prevent abuse, and to improve quality. Our legal bases under the GDPR are performance of our contract with you (Art. 6(1)(b)), our legitimate interest in keeping the Service secure (Art. 6(1)(f)), and compliance with legal obligations such as tax record-keeping (Art. 6(1)(c)).

Processors and international transfers

We use the processors below, each under a contract that forbids using your data for any other purpose. All are in the United States; transfers from the EEA/UK rely on the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.

  • Speech recognition and translation — Soniox, Inc. (USA)
  • Payments — Stripe, Inc. (USA). Card numbers never reach us
  • Infrastructure — Fly.io, Inc. (USA)
  • Authentication and database — Supabase, Inc. (USA)

We update this page when a processor changes. We do not sell or share your personal information, and we do not use it to train models.

How long we keep it

Account and usage records are kept while your account exists and for up to 30 days after deletion, except billing records, which tax law requires us to keep for seven years. Audio is never stored.

Cookies

We set three cookies. We set no third-party advertising or analytics cookies.

  • si_refresh (keeps you signed in) — set only while you are signed in.
  • si_sso (single sign-on safety check) — set for 10 minutes during SSO sign-in.
  • si_src (referral counting) — holds exactly one word from a fixed list of about a dozen ("meta", "google", "direct", …). It contains no identifier for you or your device and no random id. It expires after 30 days.

The records built from si_src are counts only — date × page or action × referral source. They contain no IP address, browser details, or anything identifying you (for security audit records, see "Information we collect").

This site loads web fonts from Google Fonts, so your IP address is sent to Google when the fonts are fetched.

Your rights

You can export or delete your data from the account page at any time. You also have the right to access, correct, restrict, or object to our processing, to data portability, and to withdraw consent. Email us and we will respond within 30 days. If you are in the EEA or UK you may also complain to your local data protection authority; if you are in California, we do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined by the CCPA.

Children

The Service is not directed to children under 13 (under 16 in the EEA), and we do not knowingly collect their personal data. If you believe a child has given us data, email us and we will delete it.
